My pals over at Discount Supplements were sound enough to send me a tub of their brand spanking new paleo protein to try out for my followers!
Taking a little break from my typical number 1 flavour was actually a welcome change- I brought this protein to Croatia with me on holidays as it’s very fresh and light and felt the chocolate flavour one might be a little heavy in the heat.
The flavour I tried was orange twist- and I felt it was really unlike any other protein I have ever tried. It tastes kind of like a sparkler- the old 80’s ice loll pop for anyone as ‘old’ as me 🙂
My first thought was that i probably wouldn’t enjoy that flavour first thing in the morning but on the contrary- I actually loved it as it gave me an energy boost first thing in the morning to get up and train as I found I wasn’t able to eat very early in the morning while abroad in the heat. I think this would also work quite well with coconut water to make some orange coco protein ice lollies– eeek! I have to be honest though, I’m not typically an orange flavour fan so would love to try the apple flavour to see if I love that now too!
