So as part of my job, I was working at this year’s Taste of Dublin and was so impressed with the spread there, from the Meat tasting at Aldi, to the teeny burgers at FX Buckley.
But I also had the absolute pleasure of working with some of Ireland’s top start-ups Cool Beans, run by the simply divine Sarah and Isolde, who both realise that healthy eating sometimes cost an absolute fortune in Ireland- I kind of concur- and have come up with some deliciously proteiny beany meals you can add to omelettes, eat on their own, whack on some spelt and honey bread (Supervalu do a great one for cheatmeals!) They are also gorgeous fried with chopped chicken and rolled into lettuce leaves or tortillas and with your morning eggs too! Where have the BEAN all our lives?!
Next up was the lovely Paul from Nudiefoods who let me sample his wares- that being a selection of the most delicious fruit and veg I have taste in a LONG time. Paul told me his aim is to offer a convenient way of delivering fresh food to the people of Dublin for great value. They want to make it easier for people to source healthy food. High quality fresh food is just a email or a quick call away and it even arrives in a cool little wooden create making you feel totally old school! Nudiefoods sources market fresh produce and delivers it straight to your door. Oh and they have the most AMAZING donut peaches- or as I lovingly call them- hairy peaches 🙂
Finally, I had the honour of meeting the fabulous Joanne from My Organics who grow little organic salad pots for you to nurture and continue to grow yourself at home- it’s all very cool! As an apartment living girl, this is very special as it’s like your own mini-garden, something that I’m sure people with lovely big gardens and outdoor spaces often take for granted! The concept is that you can buy this product living in a pot, in its organic soil and you eat it as fresh as the day you bought it – when you want it- gone are the days when you buy a bag of salad and throw it out because it has lost its freshness.
Have you tried any of these delicious products?
