GymBunny Transparency

Affiliate Disclosure

GymBunny.ie contains links to retailer websites, including our main affiliate merchant, Home Fitness Code. Some of these are affiliate links. If you follow one and go on to make a purchase, GymBunny may earn a commission from the retailer or an affiliate network. This does not normally increase the price you pay. This page explains, in plain English, how those relationships work, how tracking is used on our links, and how commercial relationships relate to what we publish.

Short version

Some links on GymBunny are affiliate links. If you follow one of these links and make a purchase, GymBunny may receive a commission from the retailer or affiliate network. This does not normally increase the price you pay.

Retailer prices, availability, delivery, returns, warranties and terms can change, so check the retailer’s current information before purchasing.

How GymBunny May Earn Money

GymBunny’s primary current monetisation method is affiliate marketing. The website may also use other clearly disclosed commercial arrangements where relevant. Depending on the page, this can include:

  • Affiliate commissions from retailer purchases
  • Commercial partnerships with brands or platforms
  • Sponsored content, if this is accepted in future
  • Advertising, if this is used in future
  • Referrals to related products or services
  • Common ownership of EaseMoov, a related walking-pad brand

Not every revenue type listed above is necessarily active on every page, or active at all at any given time. Where GymBunny publishes specifically sponsored content, that content is labelled clearly on the relevant page, separately from this general disclosure.

Our Relationship with Home Fitness Code

Home Fitness Code is GymBunny’s main affiliate merchant. Certain GymBunny pages link to the Irish Home Fitness Code website, and GymBunny may receive a commission from qualifying purchases attributed to those links.

  • Home Fitness Code is responsible for its own products, prices, stock, checkout, delivery, warranty, returns and customer support.
  • GymBunny does not process the transaction, hold stock, or take payment.
  • A commission relationship does not turn GymBunny into the seller of Home Fitness Code products.
  • Product information, specifications, pricing and policies can change, and should always be checked on the retailer’s own website before purchasing.

Home Fitness Code is not described here as GymBunny’s exclusive partner, and this page does not claim that Home Fitness Code reviews, approves or verifies GymBunny’s editorial content.

How Affiliate Tracking Works

GymBunny uses a system called GoAffPro to track Home Fitness Code referrals. Home Fitness Code affiliate web addresses used on GymBunny may include parameters such as ref=walking-pad and sub_id= followed by the slug of the GymBunny page the link appears on.

  • The ref parameter identifies GymBunny’s affiliate account or referral relationship with Home Fitness Code.
  • The sub_id parameter identifies the specific GymBunny page a referral came from, using that page’s own web address slug.
  • This helps GymBunny understand which guides, reviews or comparisons generated a referral.
  • The sub_id identifies the GymBunny source page. It does not contain personal details about the reader.
  • The retailer or affiliate platform may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute a later purchase back to a referral.
  • Cookie duration and attribution rules are set by the retailer or affiliate platform, and can change. Readers should consult the retailer’s own privacy and cookie information for details of how it processes data.
Worked example

A link placed on a GymBunny brand-review page may use a source identifier matching that page’s own slug. For example, a link on our Home Fitness Code brand review would carry a sub_id matching that page’s address, shown here as plain text and not as a clickable link:

sub_id=home-fitness-code-reviews

This identifies the GymBunny article the referral came from. It does not identify who is reading the article.

How Affiliate Links Are Marked

GymBunny aims to mark direct affiliate links using the attributes rel="nofollow sponsored noopener" and target="_blank".

  • sponsored identifies the commercial relationship to search engines.
  • nofollow provides an additional qualification alongside it.
  • noopener improves security when a link opens in a new browser tab.
  • target=”_blank” opens the retailer’s page in a new tab, so the GymBunny page stays open.

Normal internal links between GymBunny pages are not treated as sponsored affiliate links, and open in the same tab.

Affiliate Relationships and Editorial Content

Affiliate revenue supports the operation and maintenance of GymBunny. Affiliate relationships do not replace GymBunny’s stated research and suitability criteria, but readers should understand that GymBunny may receive compensation from some retailers featured on the site.

  • A commercial relationship with a retailer does not automatically make a product suitable for every reader.
  • Content aims to include relevant limitations and unsuitable-use cases alongside strengths.
  • Product specifications may come from manufacturer or retailer documentation, and are presented as retailer-provided information rather than as GymBunny’s own independent measurement.
  • Hands-on testing is only claimed where it actually took place.
  • Ratings, tests, customer quotations and statistics are not invented.
  • Product availability and prices should always be checked before purchase, as they can change after a page is published.
  • GymBunny may update, remove or change a recommendation as new information becomes available.

You can read how GymBunny researches and evaluates products, or browse our walking pad brand and model reviews for examples of this approach in practice.

Ownership disclosure

EaseMoov Ownership Disclosure

EaseMoov is a walking-pad brand under common ownership with GymBunny. GymBunny may occasionally mention, review, compare or link to EaseMoov.

  • This ownership relationship is materially different from a normal third-party affiliate relationship.
  • GymBunny content that features EaseMoov should disclose this relationship clearly on the relevant page.
  • Readers should weigh this ownership relationship when assessing any recommendation, review or comparison involving EaseMoov.

Where EaseMoov appears in GymBunny editorial content, the common-ownership relationship is disclosed prominently so readers can assess the recommendation with the relevant context.

Other Retailers and Commercial Partners

GymBunny may use affiliate links to other retailers, brands or affiliate networks beyond Home Fitness Code.

  • The list of partners may change over time.
  • A retailer being linked from GymBunny does not mean GymBunny controls that retailer or its website.
  • Retailer terms, prices, stock and policies must be checked on the retailer’s own website.
  • Any material sponsorship or gifted-product relationship is disclosed on the relevant content page.
  • A product supplied free of charge is disclosed where relevant to the content.
  • Any paid placement is labelled clearly as such.

Not every retailer linked from GymBunny is necessarily formally partnered with GymBunny, and this page does not attempt to list every partner by name, since that list can change.

Important

Prices, Availability and Retailer Terms

  • Prices shown or referenced on GymBunny can become outdated.
  • Different product variants can carry different prices.
  • A live retailer product page does not guarantee current stock.
  • Delivery estimates given by a retailer are not guarantees.
  • Warranty and returns policies can vary by product and retailer, and can change.
  • Readers should check the retailer’s page before ordering.
  • The retailer is responsible for checkout, fulfilment and the terms of sale.
  • GymBunny is not responsible for contracts entered into between a reader and a third-party retailer.

This section provides general transparency information and is not a substitute for a professionally drafted terms and conditions page.

Cookies and Privacy

  • Affiliate retailers or affiliate networks may use cookies or similar technologies on their own websites.
  • These technologies may be used to attribute a later purchase back to the website that referred the visitor.
  • GymBunny does not control how third-party retailer websites process information once a reader has left GymBunny.
  • Readers should review the relevant retailer’s own privacy and cookie notices for details of that processing.

Please use the Privacy Policy linked in the GymBunny website footer for more information about data processing on GymBunny. Declining optional GymBunny cookies does not necessarily prevent all third-party affiliate attribution once you follow a link to a retailer’s website.

Disclosure Used on Affiliate Pages

Pages containing affiliate links normally show a short version of this disclosure before the first merchant link:

“Affiliate disclosure: Some retailer links on this page are affiliate links. If you purchase through one of these links, GymBunny may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not change the factors considered in our content or the price shown by the retailer.”

  • This short notice appears before the first affiliate link on a page.
  • It links through to this full Affiliate Disclosure page.
  • Some pages may need an additional, page-specific disclosure alongside it.
  • Content featuring EaseMoov needs its own common-ownership disclosure.
  • Gifted products, sponsorships or paid placements need their own clear labels.
